If, like many homes here in Connecticut, yours is heated with a boiler and thus doesn’t have ductwork, you may believe that your only options for air conditioning are the costly, messy adding of ductwork around your home for central air conditioning or bulky, unsightly, noisy, inefficient window A/C units.
Not anymore! Ductless mini-splits from Homestead Comfort give you efficient, cool comfort without ductwork and without having to install and take down window A/C units each year.

As their name implies, ductless mini-splits do not need ductwork for home cooling, which saves you thousands of dollars as allows you to avoid the mess and upheaval of having to run ductwork throughout your home.
There are two major components in a ductless mini-split.
First is the outdoor compressor unit. Refrigerant enters the compressor where it is compressed and sent to the condenser. Any heat it gives up is sent out of the unit into the outdoor air.
The refrigerant is now a liquid. It is sent through a conduit to the second major component, the indoor air handler, which is also called the evaporator. The conduit also contains the power, communications and condensate drain lines for the mini-split system.
Once inside the evaporator, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the indoor air that is blown over the evaporator coils. That air, now cooled, is sent back out into your home.
Ductless mini-splits offer several advantages.
