Home Energy Efficiency Assessments

Make an investment in your home!

energy audit connecticutYou may have heard it’s supposed to be colder than average here in Connecticut this winter.

While that may be great for outdoor winter activities like skiing, it may not be so great for your bank account as your home’s heating costs may go up.

Now is the time to take the first step towards improving your home’s energy efficiency. Homestead Energy Solutions offers thorough home energy assessments that help you know how you can make your home more energy efficient and comfortable.

Homestead Energy Solutions is an authorized contractor for Energize CT’s Home Energy Solutions℠, which is an in-home service that offers expert energy evaluations and weatherization upgrades to help homeowners save money on their utility bills.

All sorts of your neighbors are getting home energy assessments. Some are recent homebuyers. Others are longtime homeowners wanting to reduce their energy costs. And there are some who want to shrink their carbon footprint.

What happens in a home energy assessment?

Depending on the size of your home, our assessor will be there for a couple of hours up to eight hours.
We go through every room in your house, including the attic and basement. Areas we are looking at include:

With what we find, we’ll give you a complete report with suggestions for making your home more energy-efficient. It may be adding insulation, replacing old and inefficient appliances, repairing HVAC equipment, and other ideas. We will also add up to 25 LED bulbs to your home, so you’ll start saving energy right away.

If you need HVAC or water heater repairs or replacement, we can help you with both. All of our service technicians and plumbers are licensed by the State of Connecticut.

How do I prepare for a home energy assessment?

The U.S. Department of Energy recommends that you have copies of your last year’s energy bills so our assessors can get a picture of your energy usage. Also, make a list of existing problems you have observed, such as drafts and condensation, and where they’re located.
